Why Newborn?

Bringing a baby into the world is remarkable and so precious for every parent. Those early days are so fleeting, it's wonderful to capture all those tiny details in such a unique and special way. You and your family will cherish your beautiful photographs forever. 

When to book?

Newborn shoots are ideally photographed in the first 14 days of life. I will happily photograph newborns up to 8 weeks old if the shoot needs to be delayed for a specific reason. I recommend booking as early as your 20 week scan to secure your date however I will always try my best to accommodate any last minute bookings where possible. Once your booking has been finalised I will ask you to have a look through my Gallery and let me know any specific colours/props/poses you would like me to include. I will also send you a 'Tips for preparing for your photoshoot' Guide.

What to expect on the day?

Your Newborn photoshoot will take place at the brand new Minipix photography studio based in Aldridge village centre, easy transport access from Walsall, Sutton Coldfield & Birmingham. I provide a warm and relaxed environment so you can sit back and enjoy the wonderful photoshoot experience. In order to achieve the best results I recommend feeding as close to leaving the house as possible or on arrival at the studio. This helps to settle them into a deep sleep ready for lots of snuggly poses and props. I have extensive experience with newborn posing, safety, settling and comforting them. Please do not worry, panic or feel embarrassed about any pee or poop it happens every shoot. I set aside up to 3 hours for the photoshoot so you will not be rushed, plenty of time for snuggles and all of babies individual needs. At the end of the photoshoot I will book you in for a private ordering appointment 12-14 days later to view your artworked images and select and products and packages you wish to purchase.

Can I include Parents & Siblings in the photoshoot?

Absolutely! I offer two different vouchers either just Newborn baby or Parent, Sibling & Newborn baby. Make sure to select the correct voucher when purchasing. For photoshoots that include parents and sibling I always start with these first. Once these have been completed dad can always take the older child/children to the local park or for a little walk whilst i continue with the newborn baby photographs. Outfits wise for Parents and siblings I recommend neutral colours e.g White/cream/grey/pastel as they are timeless, steer clear from large logos or any patterns as these can be distracting.

What do I need to bring?

I recommend bringing baby in an easy to undress baby grow, simple poppers/zips etc with not too many layers. This helps not to disturb baby too much when undressing. Bring plenty of nappies, baby wipes, breast milk or formula bottles, dummies & any special blankets you may wish to include. If you have anything sentimental you wish to include- knitted hat from nan, teddy or soft toy please feel do bring along. Babies are best photographed naked or wrapped so you don't need to bring any outfits. 

All the props such as baskets, buckets, wraps, hats, fluffy rugs, flowers, drawers, mini sofa's are all provided by myself and are available for you. Make sure to have a look through my sample of work and specify any props you love so I can prepare these ready for you.

Can other family members join in?

Due to limited space I do only offer Parents & siblings to attend with any newborn photoshoot unless agreed with myself prior to booking.

What are the prices and packages available to purchase at the ordering appointment?

Included in your photoshoot voucher fee you receive one complimentary Digital Image. All other images are available to purchase in packages or individual products. There is an extensive guide I provide you with at the end of the photoshoot for you to look through prior to returning. A small example of packages are-

I have recently introduced Interest free finance so you can spread these costs monthly with a 25% deposit. 

How to book?

Vouchers are valid for 24 weeks so you can pre book from as early as your 20 week scan to make sure you don't miss out.
